I am supposed to be studying for my livestock anatomy midterm. I've been in the library for the past 7 hours, not even close to being done. So anyways i though I could use a break and started cruising around the internet when I realized that I haven't checked my DA account in QUITE some time.... LOTS of messages.

Anyways, I haven't posted any new photos recently because I have been, well, just plain uninspired. And I'm not really sure how to go about re-inspiring myself. Usually if I look at other people's beautiful work, it motivates me to whip my trusty camera out. But lately that hasn't worked. It kind of makes me sad. I'm sure that I can't be the only one that goes through slumps like this. How do people inspire themselves to pick up the camera again when they just don't see anything worthy through the lens? Comments would be greatly appreciated!

I seek the help of my fellow deviants... I am hoping to invest in a new lens and i would like some opinions. I have a sony alpha 330. I'm looking for something with a lot of zoom that shoots well in low lighting, i.e. shooting fast moving horses in indoor arenas :)  I know what job i need the lens to do, i just don't know which lens can do the job. Any input would be much appreciated!

And if your feeling really generous, here is a link to Sony's selection of lenses, if anyone would like to look around there and tell me a few specific lenses that they think may be what i'm looking for, you get a cookie

Oh College...

1 min read
I have just completed my first two weeks in college! Its going quite well, I'm loving all my classes and the fact that my dorm is about a 2 minute walk from all the barns for the agriculture school. after begging, my parents are allowing me to bring my beloved camera here! They were afraid something bad would happen to it here, and God forbid anything should happen to it, but I can't live without my camera. I miss taking pictures so much, but i gave my parents very detailed instructions as to how to ship my camera so that it doesn't get damaged, hopefully it will be here shortly so I will be able to put up some more photos soon!

Well I told myself that i was going to get a good night's sleep and go to bed early. It's now one in the morning and I have yet to even think about going to bed.... I guess I wont be going to bed terribly early tonight... this morning... whatever. Anyways I've been trying to photograph at a bunch of horse shows around here, but i've only managed to get a handful of decent shots. It's slightly depressing, but hopefully i will get through this artistic block soon.

I don't ever read other people's journals so I can't imagine that anyone reads mine, however I'll just throw this question out there and hopefully the one or two people who ever read these silly journal entries will be kind enough to help me out...

I am looking for some really awesome tutorials on how to take off tack on horses in photoshop. I have a bunch of pictures that I'm trying to turn into tackless stock, but I'm really bad at it and I'm perfectly capable of trying to find a tutorial myself but I'm just so darn lazy. If anyone knows of any good tutorials to remove tack wanna leave a link? Cookies for you if you do :D

It was 60 degrees outside today!!! I am very glad to be rid of all the snow. Now that spring is here its horse show season which means lots of opportunities for photographs :)  I got a new 75-300mm lens for my camera and I am absolutely loving it!

I would love a really cool picture of me riding my own horse, but I also want to be the one taking the photo... obviously I can't be in two places at once. I'm trying to teach my younger sister, who is thirteen, the basics of photography. I've taught her how to work my camera, about lighting, different angles, etc. I hope my crash course will get me a cool picture of me and my horse. I have given my friends nice pictures of them and their horses, but I don't have a nice picture of my own, hopefully my sister won't disappoint.

Anyways, that's it for now. So happy its spring and I can't wait for green pasture to photo the horses in :)
